Savages and Red Raiders each entered this season with a peice of the title ... but both came up empty, as Dazed and NWO pulled upsets to start things off in week 1 action.
MOB 68  - TEAM X 18 ....  The Mob welcomed the new expansion team with a convincing victory, high-lited by Birdman (3-80-2) surpassing Hall of Fame receiver Cya  as the leagues new all-time leader in receiving yards ..Papi looks like he's already in mid-season form (25-18-468-8-0) and even had a pick he took to the house on defense ...  new weapon Mag B lead all Mob receivers with 5 grabs for 102 yards and a td ... Primetime hauled in 3 for 110 yards and 2 scores ... other scores were pulled in by Energy (from 21 yards), Truth (from 26 yards) and Nightmare (from 49 yards) - who also snagged 2 of the teams 3 interceptions ... Koda applied the pressure with 2 sacks ... considering he was going up against a very veteran Mob defense in his first at-bat, X quarterback Reem was pretty poised - connecting on 26 of 41 for 436 yards and 3 td's ... Lamar was his go to guy and finished with 9 receptions for 105 yards and a score ....and Chap (6-157-1)  and Tyler (5-122-1) look like they're going to be capable of providing this team with some big plays ... they just need  the defense come around (no turnovers/no sacks) ....
DAZED 34 - SAVAGES 33 ....  Mas dissected last seasons #1 defense for 516 yards while completing 28 of 45 and tossing 5 td's, including 3 to Dave who exploded for 213 yards on his 8 catches .... Toro also had his way, as he caught a week one-high 13 receptions for 194 yards ... DVS had a sack ... D&C pulled out this win with under 30 seconds left in the game when Mas hit newly signed Peanut (4-63-2 and 1 int) in the corner of the end-zone for a 31 yard touchdown score, and then connected with Szeuch on the 2-point extra-point play to take the lead ...  with qb Bizzy still holding out, Jarrod was at the helm on offense and  was pretty effective both passing (312 yards / 3 td's) and rushing (145 yards / 2 td's) ... Skillz lead the group with 7 receptions (for 86 yards) and Charlie (5-109), Stevie D (5-87) and Prolific (3-30) each caught a score ... defensively, EZE and Smitty had a pick each while Big Red (2 sacks) and Trippz (1 sack)  had success collapsing the pocket at times ... but over 500 yards and 34 points is not what we're used to seeing from last fall's champs defense and all the credit goes to Dazed & Confused ....
NWO 44 - RED RAIDERS 18 ....  winning your first SFF game as an expansion team is difficult  ... winning your first SFF game as an expansion team against a championship team is almost impossible! ... but that's how NWO broke in the door on Sunday ... they appear to have a gunslinger at qb in Watson, who completed 22 of 30 of his passes for 457 yards and 4 td's with no turnovers ... he also rumbled for 51 yards and 2 scores on the ground ...  Garcia (5-141-1), H.D. (5-112-1), A.C. (4-101-0) and Surprise (6-68-2) were responsible for most of the down-field damage ... Superbowl (2 sacks) and Garcia (1 sack) caused mayhem in the pit and Plummer had the games only turnover  ... not a bad start for the new guys ....Red Raiders are back after winning the spring title and taking the fall season off ... Wheaties (35-20-295-1-1) was able to punch in 2 rushing scores ... Mr. Manley was the teams featured receiver with 7 grabs for a buck-forty, and HeHateMe (4-53-1) and Jim Jones (4-59-0) chipped in, but the defense lacked that big-play ability they showed last spring in this contest Sunday ...
PREDATORS 34 - MILITIA 6  .... Militia dug themselves in a hole real early in this one ...  Predators Jaeda picked off an early interception and raced it back 37 yards for a score ... and on the very next possession, Edwards did the same, taking his int 41 yards to the house, as the defense accounted for 2 scores and 3 sacks - 1 each by KennyDub C and Stark ... offensively, Juice just had to "manage" the game as he completed 14 of 24 for 178 yards, 2 scores and no turnovers - he also ran one in from 6 yards out ... both his td passes went to Phreak, while Edwards lead the team with 6 receptions for 68 yards ... Militia is lead by last seasons Rookie of the Year The General (30-14-158-1-2) whose top targets in this game was Ill-Town (4-53-0) and Kasson (4-19-1) ... sff.
